John Terry wants to stay at Chelsea for life

John Terry has confirmed that he is prepared to finish his footballing career at Chelsea.

Terry’s current deal expires in June and he has revealed that talks are ongoing with the club to extend his stay and has made it clear he wants to remain at Stamford Bridge.

Terry: “Clearly, I want to stay for the rest of my footballing days.”

“At the minute we’re in talks and it’s ongoing. I’m hoping it gets done. It’s down to the club. They know I want to stay.”

Stat Attack: John Terry has made 220 clearances in the Premier League this season, more than any other Chelsea player.

Jose Mourinho has also previously stated he wants his captain to remain and end his career at the club.

Mourinho: “The manager wants him to stay; the club know I want him to stay, the club want him to stay, he wants to stay, so normally he is staying.

John Terry has been in outstanding form this season, but was ruled out for the second leg against Atletico Madrid after suffering from an injury in the first leg. It was earlier reported that Terry will be out for the season.

Since then, he has made a remarkable comeback from his injury and is now fit to face Atletico tonight in the second leg of the Champions League. Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Terry will start tonight.

The return of Eden Hazard, Samuel Eto’o and John Terry is a huge boost for Chelsea who are looking to reach their third consecutive final in Europe.
