Italian Job for Kakuta

Highly rated French International Gael Kakuta has signed a six month loan deal with Italian side Lazio.

The Rome outfit (who currently sit 10th in Serie A) have identified the versatile French forward as a potential force to catapult them up the table.

Kakuta has struggled to force his way into the Stamford Bridge reckoning since controversially arriving from France and has subsequently been loaned out to four different clubs.

The Blues battled hard to sign Kakuta from Lens in 2007 and it was a deal that caused a great amount of controversy, with Chelsea accused of tapping up the player. They were later fined for their conduct.

Kakuta has represented 4 teams on loan during his Chelsea spell

The four clubs that Kakuta has represented on loan during his time at Chelsea include Fulham, Bolton, Dijon and Vitesse Arnheim, but he returned at the start of the season like many fringe players hoping to impress Jose Mourinho.

This latest loan move could prove to be the end of the Frenchman’s journey in West London, with Chelsea potentially looking to move him permanently in the summer.

The Stamford Bridge experience for Kakuta has been one of tumultuous and nomadic existence. It may now be the case that Jose Mourinho has called time on his Chelsea career.
